Bardhan critical of comments by Bengal Governor
Asansol, Bardhaman, Nov 22 (UNI) Communist Party of India(CPI) General Secretary A B Bardhan today criticised the comments made by West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi on Nandigram.
''Such comments are not expected from the Governor,'' Mr Bardhan said.
He, however, refused to say anything on comments made by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who asked the West Bengal government to take note of the ''spontaneous outpour of grief and anguish'' over the Nandigram incidents and take ''necessary steps'' to restore peace and confidence of the people through effective deployment of security forces.
Mr Bardhan was here to inaugurate the two-day 12th Conference for the colliery Mazdoor Sabha, which concluded here today.
''We
