TRS demands resignation of Laxmaiah
Hyderabad, Nov 21 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President and former Union Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao today demanded the resignation of Major Irrigation Minister P Laxmaiah from his post owning moral responsibility following the CAG report against the State Government for increasing the estimates of irrigation project works under "Jalayagnam".
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Rao alleged that there was corruption in awarding the project works to contractors and the estmiates of the works were increased.
He also alleged that the State Government cheated the backward Telangana region by not allocating funds.
"The CAG report exposed the irregularities committed by the government. Public money was looted by diverting the funds", he charged.
Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy should apologise to the people of the state for committing irregularities in the project works as per the CAG report, Mr Rao demanded.
