Three hawala racketeer nabbed

Jalandhar, Nov 21 (UNI) The District police today arrested three people involved in 'hawala' racket from Goraya in the district.

The police said the accused identified as Charanjeet Singh, Ram Swarup and Gurpreet Singh, all residents of Ludhiana, were involved in the hawala transactions for the last seven months.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused revealed that they used to distribute nearly Rs 10 lakh everyday, the police added.

Enforcement Directorate was later informed regarding the arrest, the police said.
