Prohibitory orders imposed in Karouli district

Jaipur, Nov 21 (UNI) The Karouli District Collector has imposed prohibitory orders in the district for one month beginning today.

The decision was taken following a threat of agitation by the farmers on the issue of releasing water from Panchna dam. The farmers of the Panchna command area in the district and Sawai Madhopur have threatened to forcefully open the gates of the dam if the administraion did not comply with their demand by tomorrow.

Protests by Panchna Bund Sangarsh Samiti and the Meena community had been going on in the district with agitators putting traffic blockades and organising demonstration in various of the district to press their demand for water, which forced the district administration to impose prohibitory orders.
