Replying to supplementaries raised in the Rajya Sabha during the Question Hour by Mr S S Ahluwalia of the BJP, Mr Patil said many of the recent blasts, including those in Hyderabad, had been triggered by mobile phones.
''Investigations conducted show the clear use of electronic technology for effecting many of the recent blasts,'' Mr Patil said.
The Home Minister, however, said the resolution of such activities could not be done through law.
''We have to evolve technological means to tackle such cases. We need to come up with a new and better technology to foil the designs of the terrorists and those trying to create mischief,'' Mr Patil said.
