Islamabad, Nov 21 (UNI) Pakistan today said President Pervez Musharraf never intended to meet former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during his day-long visit to Saudi Arabia and dismissed media reports as ''fabricated and baseless''.

The President neither had any meeting scheduled with Mr Sharif, nor he intended having any, Presidential spokesman said.

Pakistan had deep political, diplomatic and brotherly relations with Saudi Arabia and their leaders regularly met and contacted each other for consultation on important regional and international issues and matters of mutual concern, the spokesman said.

He added that Gen Musharraf's visit was as per schedule and he held meetings with Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal and Prince Muqrin Bin Abdul Aziz, besides performing Umra.
