Lucknow, Nov 21 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BSP president Mayawati today broke a 'jinx' by entering Noida.

According to the jinx, any state chief minister, who visits Noida has to face the fall of his/her government soon after.

Ms Mayawati today reached the city to attend the wedding of her cabinet colleague Satish Chandra Mishra's neice Nitya this evening.

She reached the marriage venue around 2100 hrs wearing a rose colour suit.

Veterans claimed that Vir Bahadur Singh was the first casualty of the Noida jinx.

In 1988, he had gone to inaugurate Kalandikunj in Noida and his government soon fell.

In 1989, then Chief Minister Narain Dutt Tiwari had visited sector 11 of Noida to inaugurate a park. Soon his government too collapsed.

Similar was the fate of BJP leader Kalyan Singh.

In fact in 1994, former Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had gone on record to say that, CMs who visited Noida had been shown the door.

''I am in Noida to break the jinx,'' he had said.

But, soon his government also collapsed. Mr Yadav had visited Noida to inaugurate a school in sector 40.
