Jayakumar to meet Congress High Command

Chennai, Nov 21 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Youth Congress President ''Mayura'' S Jayakumar, who was stabbed at the party headquarters here on November 11, allegedly due to factional rivalry, said he will visit New Delhi and meet the Party High Command to explain the sequence of the incident.

Talking to news persons at the airport here on his way to Coimbatore, he said he was proceeding to the Textile city for advanced treatment.

He would then visit New Delhi and meet AICC President Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and All India Youth Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and apprise them about incident.

Mr Jayakumar was initially admitted to the Apollo Hospital before he was shifted to a private hospital at suburban Madipakkam.

He said about 15 people were involved in the attack and the police arrested only four people. He urged the police to conduct a fair probe and bring to book those involved in the incident.

It may be recalled that Mr Jayakumar, a staunch loyalist of Union Minister G K Vasan, was allegedly stabbed by party Councillor Saidai Williams, a supporter of former State Youth Congress President and TNCC President M Krishnasamy's son Dr M K Vishnu Prasad, MLA.

Acting on a complaint, police registered a case against 19 people and cited Mr Vishnu Prasad as the prime accused.

Vishnu had already obtained anticipatory bail from the court apprehending arrest in connection with the case.
