Call rates ends lower at 5.75 pc

Mumbai, Nov 21 (UNI) Inter-bank call money rates dipped to lower levels and closed today at 5.75 per cent compared to its previous close of 7.80 per cent.

The overnight rates were traversing in the range of 7.00-7.80 per cent.

Dealers said profit booking by FII's in the equity market, which might have pumped in fresh funds in the system, eased the call rates that were trading in the range of 7.00-8.00 per cent for last few days.

Reserve bank of India auctioned 91 day treasury bills, amounting to Rs 2000 crore out of which Rs 1500 crore was market stabilisation scheme (MSS).
