CAG report vindicates Oppn charge on Jalayagnam: Venkaiah

Hyderabad, Nov 21 (UNI) The Comptroller and Auditor General's report has vindicated the Opposition's charge of ''rampant corruption'' in the implementation of 'Jalayaganam' (irrigation intiative), BJP Leader M Venkaiah Naidu said today.

''The state government is morally bound to agree for a House Committee or Judicial Probe into irrigation projects and take action against all those responsible for the irregularities,'' he told a press conference here.

The CAG's observation on improper implementation of welfare schemes for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes was a slap on the face of the Congress Government, he opined asking why the Rajasekhara Reddy Government was ''silent'' on the CAG findings.
