Srinagar, Nov 21 (UNI) As many as 217 Haj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir left here today for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for performing the annual pilgrimage.

The Haj flight, carrying 131 men and 86 women left here for Jeddah this morning.

With this, a total of 2329 pilgrims from the state have left here for the annual Haj pilgrimage.

Indian Airlines would operate a single Haj flight from here for Jeddah for the first fortnight.

About ten thousand pilgrims from the state will peform the haj this year.
