Train cancels midway due to bomb hoax call

Guntur, Nov 20 (UNI) The Secunderabad-Repalli Delta fast passenger train was detained for more than three hours at Tenali station, in Guntur district last night following a bomb hoax call.

The train arrived at Tenali station at about 2030 hrs. An anonymous caller told the station superintendent that bombs were planted in the train and under the track. Police searched the coaches and the railway track from Tenali to Repalli, but did not find any explosives.

The train started the return journey from Tenali station without reaching the destination Repalli.

Passengers who became restive pelted stones at the office of the station superintendent. The railway authorities explained that the delay was inevitable and that they could not take any risk.
