PM hopes Pak would find "pragmatic" means to restore normalcy
On Board the Special Aircraft, Nov 20 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said he sincerely hoped that despite the difficulties through which Pakistan is passing, a ''pragmatic, practical and effective means to restore normalcy'' would be found.
On board the special aircraft on way to Singapore for the India-ASEAN summit and East Asia meet, Dr Singh, commenting on imposition of emergency by President Pervez Musharraf and protests by the opposition against it, said a ''strong, prosperous, peaceful and democratic Pakistan is in our interest.'' ''I would not like to comment on the internal affairs of Pakistan.
I have said on more than one occasion that the destinies of the two countries are closely interlinked,'' he added.
