New police postings for Vadodara and Anand

Gandhinagar, Nov 20 (UNI) The Election Commission (EC) today ordered posting of R P Priyadershi as Commissioner of Police, Vadodara, and Gagandeep Gambir as Superindentent of Police, Anand, with immediate effect.

The Election Commission on November 15 had ordered transfer of three senior Police officials--Vadodara Police Commissioner P C Thakhur, Jt Commissioner of Police, Ahmedabad, P K Jha and Superintendent of Police, Anand, D S Bhat.

These police officials were shifted on the basis of complaints received by the Commission and that they were considered close to the Chief Minister Narendra Modi, EC sources said.

The commission has yet to name the successor of P K Jha, the sources added.
