Nandigram a Communist waterloo: Advani

New Delhi, Nov 20: Condemning the violence unleashed on the farmers and farm workers in Nandigram in West Bengal, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani today said Nandigram will prove to be the waterloo for the Communists.

Addressing party MPs, Mr Advani said the event had shown how the ''Communist terror'' was no less lethal than the ''Islamic terror'' incidents happening across the globe.

Briefing newspersons BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said Mr Advani asked the MPs to devote most of their time and effort to work for the success of the party in the coming assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. The senior BJP leader exuded confidence that the party will retain power in Gujarat and wrest power from the Congress in the hill state.
