Former MP Channaiah Odeyar passes away

Bangalore, Nov 20 (UNI) Former MP Channaiah Odeyar died at a private hospital here after a brief illness last night.

He was 91 and is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter.

The nonagenarian leader represented the Davangere Parliamentary constituency on Congress ticket for three times. Later, he joined the Janata Dal (Secular).

The final rites would take place in his native village Bilichodu in Jagalur taluk tomorrow, family sources said.
