Evolve schemes for develpt of fishermen: PMK leader

Puducherry, Nov 20 (UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) parliamentary party leader Prof M Ramadass today urged the territorial administration to evolve schemes that would ensure overall development of the fishermen community.

Greeting the fishermen community on the occasion of the 'World Fishermen Day,' Prof Ramadass demanded that the administration take steps to modernise the fishing techniques in order to increase the yield.

Stating that schemes of the National Fisheries Corporation be implemented in the Union Territory, he said the allocation for fisheries department should be enhanced every year.

He also called upon the fishermen community to live in peace and unity.
