CPI(M) activist injured in country bomb explosion

Kannur, Nov 20 (UNI) A CPI(M) worker was seriously injured in a country bomb explosion in Makkootam, near Thalassery, in this district of Kerala last night.

The injured 53-year-old Valsaraj, party's Thalai branch member and secretary of Public Seva Samithi Library, was rushed to a hospital in Kozhikode.

While the CPI(M) alleged that the bomb was hurled by BJP-RSS activists, the latter denied any involvement in the incident.

Police said Valsaraj might have been carrying the bomb or he accidently stepped into it while walking.
