Councillors to get Rs 500 cell phone allowance

Puducherry, Nov 20 (UNI) The Ozhukarai municipality would provide Rs 500 per month as cell phone allowance to the councillors.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at the council meeting held here today.

As many as 73 resolutions, including provision of Rs 500 to the councillors towards refreshment allowance and levy of ten per cent interest per annum on those, who failed to pay property tax for years together were adopted in the meeting.

Earlier, Congress member Sibi and CPI member Sekhar locked horns on the issue of mosquito menace.
