15-year-old boy succumbs to burn injury

Rajkot, Nov 20 (UNI) A 15-year-old boy, who was allegedly set ablaze by his friend here last night, succumbed to injuries in the civil hospital here today.

The police today registered a case of murder against the accused.

The boy -- Nishant Dineshbhai Parmar -- was set ablaze by his friend Vinod Arya last night at around 2000 hrs near Anand Nagar society. He was admitted to Civil Hospital with severe burn injuries.

According to police sources, preliminary investigations revealed that financial matter was said to be the cause behind this gruesome incident.

However, the exact cause of the crime could only be known after the arrest of Arya, the sources said.

The accused, who is absconding, was a resident of Nikava village.

When the police went to the village, there were no signs of him and his two-wheeler was found abandoned near the crime spot, the sources said.
