Vigilance Bureau submits chargesheet in cheating case

Patna, Nov 19(UNI) The Bihar state vigilance investigation bureau today submitted chargesheet in a special court against three people in a case of cheating in the name of vigilance inquairy.

The chargesheet was submitted against Santosh Kumar Singh, Nageswar Prasad Kamath and Suresh Prasad Gupta by the bureau under the various sections of Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act before the designated vigilance judge S K Panwar.

According to the charges accused Santosh Kumar Singh impersonating himself as a Deputy SP(vigilance), alongwith his associates tried to extort Rs five lakhs from a relative of a junior engineer of Bihar Governments minor irrigation department in the name of the vigilance inquairy. All the accused were arrested on August 21,2007 and currently lodged in jail.
