Two Albadr militants killed in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 19 (UNI) Two militants of Al-Badr outfit were killed by the security forces in a fierce encounter in south Kashmir today, a senior police officer said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Pulwama, Nitesh Kumar said acting on a specific information, Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and 62 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) launched a joint operation at village Chitragam under police station Zainpora in Shopian district.

However, when the security forces were sealing the village, militants opened fire. The fire was returned and in the ensuing gun battle two militants Gulzar Ahmad Chopan and Abid of Al-Badr outfit were killed.

He said two AK rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
