Sugar prices dip on larger stocks arrivals
Navi Mumbai, Nov 19 (UNI) Wholesale spot sugar prices today declined by Rs 15 on thin buying support from bulk consumers in view of larger arrival of stocks from co-operative mills, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.
Prices of small grade and medium grades dropped by Rs 10 and Rs 15 per quintal respectively due to sustained heavy in offers by stockists because of huge stocks at the domestic markets.
Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades also eased by Rs 10 and Rs 20 per quintal due to sluggish demand by bulk consumers, traders added.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,320/1,386, Medium grade: Rs 1,370/1,480.
Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,300/1,330, Medium grade: Rs 1,360/1,380.
