Pvt deemed varsities can set up law colleges: HC
Chennai, Nov 19 (UNI) The Madras High Court today allowed private deemed universities to set up law colleges in Tamil Nadu with the permission of the Union Government.
Justice Prabha Sridevan pronounced the order after a division bench comprising Justices Ibrahim Khalifulla and S Tamilvanan gave a split verdict on a petition filed by the Bar Coucil of India.
Earlier, while Justice Khalifulla allowed the setting up of law schools, Justice Tamilvanan had opposed it.
The matter was referred to a third judge following the split verdict.
