Operators should stick to regulations for better growth: TRAI

New Delhi, Nov 19 (UNI) Telecom watchdog Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today asked service providers to own up the regulations passed by it, for sector growth and consumer interest.

Participating in a regional workshop on consumer education at Pune, TRAI chairman Nripendra Misra said the operators should follow the orders, regulations and directions passed, by the TRAI which are aimed for growth of the sector as well as protection of the interests of consumers.

''These regulations and directions, that establish a bond between the consumers and service providers, should not be considered as an impediment or interruption in their working,'' he said.

The purpose of the workshop is to create awareness in consumers and service providers about the initiatives taken by the authority.
