NHPC initiates ERP concept at its projects

New Delhi, Nov 19 (UNI) National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd (NHPC) today said it has partnered with IFS Solutions India Pvt Ltd for its ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) initiative across all its projects locations in the country.

''This is the first major ERP initiative in the hydropower sector in India. IFS ERP solution has been adopted by many leading energy players worldwide. IFS ERP implementation will enable NHPC to cut across departmental boundaries and adopt best business practices to increase competitiveness,'' IFS India CEO Chandan Chowdhury said.

NHPC, with over 13,000 employees, has drawn up a massive capacity addition plan to become a 20,000 MW company by the year 2017 will invest about Rs 1,00,000 crore.

The ERP implementation will be completed within a period of two years, a company statement said.

A 'Data Centre' will also be developed as a part of the solution.
