Musharraf to visit Saudi amid talk of Sharif meet

ISLAMABAD, Nov 19 (Reuters) Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf, under fire since imposing emergency rule, is due to visit Saudi Arabia tomorrow, fuelling speculation he will reach out to Nawaz Sharif, the prime minister he deposed and exiled.

''Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf will arrive here on Tuesday on a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,'' the official Saudi Press Agency reported on its website.

Sharif has remained in Jeddah since he was put on a flight to Saudia Arabia in September after Pakistani authorities blocked his attempted return from exile.

Pakistani officials were not immediately available for comment. But the News, a leading daily, wrote in an article on Monday that there were ''credible reports'' that Musharraf would meet Sharif.
