LAEF demands magisterial probe into chief's death
Shillong, Nov 19 (UNI) The Liberation A'chik Elite Force has appealed to the Garo Hills-based NGOs in Meghalaya to demand a magisterial inquiry into the killing of its 'commander-in-chief' Peter Marak.
In a statement issued to local dailies here today, LAEF leader Bitlang Sangma was suspicious about the way their 'commnader-in-chief' was killed in a crossfire with the police on August 21.
The militant leader also claimed that the police statement of him being killed in a crossfire was ''false and misleading''.
''If the encounter took place between Meghalaya police and LAEF, then why three were no police personnel wounded or killed, Mr Sangma said.
