JPMCC leader postpones fast unto death agitation
Ranchi, Nov 19: Jharkhand Mahila Pradesh Congress Committee (JPMCC) president Pratibha Pandey today postponed her fast unto death agitation scheduled on November 20.
Party spokesperson Vinita Singh said the agitation had been withdran in the wake of party's two-month ultimatum given to the UPA-backed Madhu Koda government in the state to improve its work culture.
Ms Singh said the Congress had already set a sixty-day time frame for the Koda government to expedite the developmental projects and welfare schemes in the state.
Ms Singh said any decision about the agitation would be taken after two months.
Demanding second language status for Bengali and Santhali languages in the state, the JPMCC leader had announced to go on fast unto death from tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the party planned to organise a women's rally on January 15 at the Jaipal Singh stadium here.
