Janashree Bima Yojana accounts in MP
Bhopal, Nov 19: The Madhya Pradesh government has directed collectors to get bank accounts of beneficiaries of Special Backward Tribes -- including Saharia, Bharia and Baiga -- opened under the Janashree Bima Yojana and the insurance amount deposited in those accounts.
In case of death of a family head belonging to the Special Backward Tribes, the bank account of his nominee is to be opened under the scheme, an official release said here yesterday.
The accounts in the nominees' names must be opened and operated on the basis of thumb impressions.
The collectors are to form teams for attesting all cases where the bank account of a beneficiary was opened under the Yojana and insurance amount deposited therein. At the same time, they would send a report thereof to the Principal Secretary (Tribal Welfare) through a demi-official letter, the release added.
