HP Governor, CM express grief over demise of Justice Pathak

Shimla, Nov 19 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V S Kokje and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today expressed grief and sorrow on the demise of former Chief Justice of India (CJI) R S Pathak who passed away in New Delhi after a brief illness yesterday.

The Governor, in his message, said Pathak was a renowned personality and had the rare distinction of being the youngest judge of Allahabad High Court.

He had delivered landmark judgments first as Judge, Chief Justice of various High Courts and later CJI, he said.

Mr Kokje said his contribution would always be remembered.

Terming the demise of former CJI as a personal loss, the Chief Minister said in his death the country has lost a great patriot and a nationalist.

Pathak would also be remembered for his valuable contribution to The Tribune trust, Mr Singh added.
