Dist Admn to conduct survey of historical monuments

Bijapur, Nov 19 (UNI) The District Administration has decided to conduct a survey of historical monuments in the city following alleged acquisition of monuments by private persons, Deputy Commissioner V B Patil said today.

Speaking after inaugurating the 'World Heritage Week' at the historical monument Golgummaz, he said only 92 monuments were under the government purview while nearly 125 to 150 were under private.

''To study this, a survey will be conducted and action will be taken to acquire the encroached monuments,'' he said.
