AP to be number one in corporate investments: CM

Hyderabad, Nov 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the state would soon be the number one in the country as far as corporate investments are concerned.

In an official release here, Dr Reddy said, though Gujarat continued to be in the number one position, Andhra Pradesh , which is ranked second, would soon be numero uno as special efforts were being made to attract more investments.

The state with a total investment of Rs 25,173 crore had surpassed Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, during 2006-07.

He said the state government was focusing on promotion of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) linked to the ports at Visakhapatnam, Kakinda and Krishnapatnam.
