Airtel nominated for Economic Times Awards

Agartala, Nov 19: Bharti Airtel has been nominated as the Company of the Year for the Economic Times Awards for corporate excellence, an Airtel release said here today.

The statement said Bharti Airtel was India's third largest company by market cap and tenth largest telecom player globally on the subscriber front with over 50 million customers.

Eight years after the launch of its services, Bharti Airtel recorded its first quarterly profit of Rs 23 crore in March 2003 and its first full year profit in the fiscal 2004.

The statement added that this year, the company expected Rs 28,000-Rs 29,000 crore in sales and by 2010, Airtel would be the largest telecom player, ahead of BSNL in customer share.
