AIADMK resort to agitation on farmers' demand

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 19 (UNI) Members of the Tiruchirapalli, Karur, Perambalur and Pudukkottai district's unit of the AIADMK staged a slogan shouting demonstration here today.

The protest was led by party's organising secretary and former Minister M Chinnasamy, Party's election-wing Secretary Pollachi Jayaraman in front of the Collectorate.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Chinnasamy and Mr Jayaraman alleged that the demonstration was the part of Statewide agitation to condemn the anti-farmers attitude of the minority DMK Government.

They alleged that the farmers, especially the sugarcane growers, were suffering a lot in the corrupt DMK regime and they were not given their dues for supplying sugarcane for the past so many months, amounting to Rs 250 crore.

The demonstration urged the Government to settle their dues immediately, they added.
