AC-buses for the common passenger in Punjab

Moga, Nov 19:The Punjab government will introduce air conditioned buses on a number of routes in January next year.

The fare of these buses will be marginally higher than the 'ordinary' buses but far lower than the current notified AC-bus fare, Transport Minister Mohan Lal said here yesterday.

Besides this, the state transport department would also launch local bus services in the big cities of the state, he added.

Specially designed buses with facilities for the elderly and disabled passengers would ply on the city routes, he said.

He also stated that an institute to impart training would come up very soon at Kapurthala on an area of 150 acres.
