3 remanded to police custody in Vivek murder case

Nashik, Nov 19 (UNI) A local court today remanded three people, arrested in connection with the murder of an eleven-year-old boy, in police custody till November 21.

Eleven-year-old Vivek was kidnapped on Thursday from Satpur area of the city for a ransom of Rs two lakh but later murdered.

The three arrested persons have been identified as Dharamjeet Agarwal (21), Veerendrakumar Maurya (20) and Acchelal Chamar (21).

Maurya and Chamar had been arrested the very next day when they came to collect the ransom amount, police said. It was Maurya who had called up Vivek's father and demanded a sum of Rs two lakh for the boy's release.

Meanwhile, the police are still awaiting the post-mortem report conducted of the boy. The exact cause behind the boy's death is yet to be ascertained.
