3 killed, 4 injured in train accident

Lucknow, Nov 19: Three people, including a woman, were killed and four others injured in a train accident at a manned level crossing in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh this afternoon.

Government Railway Police (GRP) said here two rickshaws carrying seven people were passing over the tracks in Jail Road area, even as the level crossing had already been closed for road traffic.

The arriving 4005-A Patna-Delhi Special Train hit the two rickshaws, in which three rickshaw-borne passengers died on the spot.

The dead were yet to be identified.

The four critically injured were later rushed to Malkhan Singh Hospital.

The Special Train stopped for some time at the accident spot, before resuming its onward journey, GRP added.

A case had been registered.
