Scribes to gherao MP DGP

Jabalpur, Nov 18 (UNI) Journalists will take out a rally here tomorrow in protest against a first information report (FIR) being registered at a local police station against a major daily newspaper's directors following a threat complaint by Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Commercial Tax and Cooperatives Harendrajit Singh.

''The decision was taken yesterday at a Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh meeting,'' Sangh General Secretary Nalinkant Vajpeyi said in a statement issued here today. Director General of Police Anand ao Pawar would be gheroed outside the Civil Lines resthouse, he said.

In a memorandum to Superintendent of Police Makrand Deuskar, the Newspaper Agents Association and Samacharpatra Vikreta Sangh alleged that the FIR was an attack on the Fourth Estate and demanded an inquiry.
