PMK urges Centre to allot funds
Puducherry, Nov 18 (UNI) PMK Parliamentary Party Leader Prof M Ramadass today urged the Union Government to sanction Rs 10.78 crore for various programmes under the 'Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2000', under the centrally-sponsored schemes.
In a letter to Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Ms Meira Kumar, Prof Ramadass pointed out that the request had already been made by the Puducherry administration to the Centre. He also enlisted the proposed works to be undertaken by the administration.
In a separate letter, Prof Ramadass urged the Union Minister to sanction 10.48 crore to the Territorial Administration for the construction of three hostels for SC boys and girls.
