Chennai, Nov 18 (UNI) The burgeoning growth of the Tamil Satellite Channels, will get one more addition with 'Mega' TV, promoted by Congress MP K V Thangabalu commencing telecast tomorrow.

The commencement of the telecast will coincide with the birth anniversary of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The soft launch of the TV was made by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi during the AICC meeting at New Delhi yesterday.

Though there are Satellite channels backed by the ruling DMK, Opposition AIADMK and the PMK, 'Mega TV' would be the first from the the Congress side.

However, ''Vasanth TV'', belonging to another Congress leader H Vasantha Kumar, MLA, is in the pipeline and is expected to add to the growing numbers soon.

The DMK had started the trend of launching party-oriented TV Channels with the launch of 'Sun TV' in the early 90s by the Maran families.

Following suit, the AIADMK launched the Jaya TV and the PMK followed suit with 'Makkal TV'.

After the Maran brothers fell out with DMK President and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi over publication of an opinion poll on the possible hair apparent to him, the DMK came out with 'Kalaignar TV' this year, leading to the drop in the TRP ratings of 'Sun TV'.
