Nepal urges arrest of Sah's killers

Kathmandu, Nov 18 (UNI) CPN-UML General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal today said every effort should be made to expedite arrest of murderers of journalist Birendra Sah.

''The state would be held responsible, if it delayed arresting the accused,'' he said while talking to reporters at Sah's residence.

''The fact that no action has been taken against the murderers so far has caused pain to everyone,'' Kantipur quoted him as saying.

Local Maoist cadres abducted and murdered Sah. The Maoist leadership initially claimed of not being involved but later confessed to have carried out the killing.

Earlier in a meeting with Sah's family, his widow Umarawati requested Mr Nepal to urge the government to bring her late husband's murderers to book and declare him a martyr.
