Musharraf urges Bhutto to give up 'agitational' politics
Islamabad, Nov 18 (UNI) Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has urged former prime minister Benazir Bhutto to give up ''agitational'' politics and focus on electioneering instead.
Speaking at a farewell meeting for members of Punjab Assembly at Lahore last night, he said,''The politicians, including Benazir Bhutto who are pursuing agitational politics, should do away with it and focus on electioneering so that election could be held in peaceful atmosphere.'' He further said,''Benazir Bhutto, by indulging in agitation, is strengthening the impression that she is sure of her party's defeat in the elections.'' He noted that it was for the first time in the history of the country that assemblies have completed their tenure, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
About the transition of power, he said it is going to take place in a smooth manner with the caretaker government being inducted on Friday to hold elections for transfer power to people's representatives.
