Mahanta demands fresh inquiry

Tezpur, Nov 18 (UNI) On grounds that he had been falsely implicated, Former Assam chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta today demanded fresh inquiry by a Supreme Court Judge to inquire into the extra judicial killings from 1991 till date.

Addressing a news conference here today, the AGP(P) President said that the Justice K N Saikia Commission report was biased and falsely implicated him.

The Commission indicted Mr Mahanta as the then Home Minister, who presided over the extra judicial killings between 1998-2001.

The reports was tabled in Assam Assembly on Thursday.
