Baba Hardev preaches peace, non-violence

New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) Thousands of devotees rendered their services on the second day of the three-day Nirankari Sant Samagam today where Baba Hardev Singh preached the significance of peace and non-violence.

Adressing the devotees, Baba Hardev Singh said, ''we want peace and not pieces and let us work for it.'' Lt Governor of Delhi Tejinder Khanna, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and several MPs also visited the Samagam.

Welcoming the Baba, Mr Khanna said a minute spent in the company of saints is equal to the years spent in meditation.

Mr Hooda said there was no greater religion than humanity which is the essence of Nirankari teachings. Social activist Swami Agnivesh and MP Sajjan Kumar also paid a visit.

Next year, the Samagam site will be shifted to Samalakha, Haryana.

Babaji said the Samagam, where lakhs of people come from all over the country as well as abroad, is a symbol of peace. Saints, gurus and prophets have been using religion as a mirror to realise their true self, he added.
