70 BKU workers held in Pilibhit

70
Bharatiya
Kisan
Union
(BKU)
workers,
including
the
district
union
president,
have
been
arrested
from
railway
station
here,
police
said
today.
They said, the BKU workers were on way to Meerut to participate in a farmers panchayat being held today to protest the closure of sugar mills and arrest of BKU president Chaudhary Mahendra Singh Tiket.
On November 12, the BKU president was sent to jail in a case.
Fifty union workers were also nabbed from Basti railway station late yesterday. The arrested have been kept at police line.
