UAE pulls Pakistan TV off air

Dubai, Nov 17 (UNI) Dubai-based Pakistani news channel, Geo TV has been asked to shut down its operation.

The Urdu-language news channel was to shut down by midnight yesterday, the Khaleej Times quoted an official of the news channel as saying.

Most of the private news and other channels in Pakistan were pulled off-air after the imposition of emergency by President Pervez Musharraf on November 3.

However, this is the first time a channel operating from here has been forced to close down.
