Yedi apprises K'taka situation to Advani
New Delhi, Nov 16: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today met senior BJP leader L K Advani apparently to discuss the Karnataka situation ahead of facing the vote of confidence on November 19 in the state Legislative Assembly. The 20-minute long meeting assumes significance as he will seek the vote of confidence in the Assembly and show the majority support in the 224-member assembly. The Chief Minister took over his office on November 12 and has to prove his majority before November 20.
BJP president Rajnath Singh, BJP vice-president Yashwant Sinha and party general secretary Ananth Kumar were present during the meeting at Mr Advani's residence, sources said.
The 12-point demands put forth by Janata Dal (Secular) president H D Deve Gowda will be under the consideration of the BJP leadership as it provides a major role for his son and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy in running the coalition.
