Uttar Pradesh: Woman strangled over dowry

Gonda, Nov 16: A woman was allegedly garrotted by her in-laws over dowry in Tarapganj area of the city, police sources said today.

In a complaint, the victims's father Ram Chandar alleged his daughter Archana was continuously harassed for dowry by her in-laws.

The in-laws allegedly strangled Archana after she failed to quench their avarice for money.

Meanwhile, police recovered the woman's body hanging from a ceiling fan under Tarapganj police station area.

The body had been sent for autopsy and investigations were on, police said today.
