Ten HWCD officers designated as State PIOs under RTI Act

Chandigarh, Nov 16 (UNI) Haryana Women and Child Development Department has designated ten of its officers as State Public Information Officers/Assistant State Public Information Officers under the Right to Information Act for the smooth implementation of the Act and to provide timely information to the people.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the department said that the Child Development Project Officers had been designated as Block Level Assistant Public Information Officers.

He informed that the Additional Director Administration/Joint Director Administration had been designated as State Public Information Officers/Assistant State Public Information Officers to give information on all establishment related matters and the jurisdiction of Joint Director/Deputy Director, Development of Women and Child would be matters related to Development of Women and Child Branch.

Joint Director/Deputy Director, Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) would look after all the ICDS related schemes, matters and other subjects looked after by other ICDS officers.

Joint Director/Deputy Director, Women Awareness Programme had been designated as State Public Information Officer/Assistant State Public Information Officer to deal with matters related to the programme and other schemes of the branch.

Chief Accounts Officer would be the State Public Information Officer for Accounts, Audit and Budget and other matters under his control and Publicity Officer would be State Public Information Officer for Publicity and Research Branch matters.

He said that Additional Director, Joint Director, Deputy Director, whosoever was the Officer Incharge would act as State Public Information Officer.

Additional Director-cum-Deputy Secretary, JointDirector-cum-Under Secretary, who was designated as ex-officio State Public Information Officer at Secretariat Level would continue to function as State Public Information Officer at Secretariat level.

Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Employment Department has also been designated as the First Appellate Authority under the RTI Act for the purpose of the Act and Rules made there under in respect of the Administrative Department of Employment.
